Home for the Holidays
I think we can all agree that this year is different. The holidays are usually a time for getting together with friends, family and co-workers. This year has forced us to foster new ways of connection such as meeting online, picking up the phone and distanced walks. It has also allowed me time to look at what is important to me and do more for myself. Simple things like reading, journaling, and creating new self-care practices.
We hear the term self-care so much but what does it actually mean. It’s different for everyone but ultimately, it’s doing things for yourself that bring comfort, a sense of peace, personal growth and practicing healthy habits or rituals.
Although we are going through a difficult time and our normal has shifted, we are seeing more people get back in touch with nature via cycling, hiking and gardening.
We live in a very go, go, go world and maybe a positive out of this is that we are taking more time and care for ourselves.
Home is my safe haven. I love to have a beautiful aroma wafting through the air. This can be from baking, cooking a fabulous meal or diffusing an aroma. Scent is powerful, it can induce wonderful memories of childhood, take you back to a place you traveled, or simply uplift/calm your mood.
I hope you all are taking time for yourselves and creating some beautiful practices. If you are interested in diffusing essential oils, we carry a small line that is local called Lure. It is not overwhelming just four blends which are Uplift – Peppermint and Lavender, Rejuvenate – Lemongrass and Lavender, Refresh – Geranium, Lavender, Patchouli, and Ground – Cedar, Fir, Ginger and Grapefruit.
Take care,
